For decades, Baltimore playgrounds and rec gyms produced legends because coaches kept the lights on and demanded excellence. Rising costs and shrinking programs changed the game. Too many kids were left outside looking in.
The Sanctuary Collective is bringing that era back—with professional-grade coaching, academic support, mental-health resources, and community partnerships that make elite training accessible to every kid in the city, not just those who can pay.

The Name Behind the Movement
Founder Sam Brand is a Baltimore native, former NCAA Division I sharpshooter, and the championship coach who led Baltimore Polytechnic Institute to four consecutive Maryland 3A state titles while keeping his team GPA above 3.0. Under his watch, thirteen players earned full college scholarships.
Sam's reputation stretches from local playgrounds to national sponsor boardrooms. He knows the city, he knows the game, and he knows how to build programs that win. The Sanctuary Collective is the natural next step in a career defined by turning potential into results.
